Steve Diez

Director

 

Steve is a Fellow Certified Practising Accountant (FCPA) with over forty years experience and is Principle of Accountancy Plus Whitsunday. He graduated from Monash University with a Bachelor of Economics and moved to the Whitsundays in 1985 with his wife, Bennie, where both their children were born and raised. They now reside in Melbourne and manage the Melbourne office of APW, travelling to the Whitsundays regularly. Steve combines his expertise in the business, taxation and financial arena together with specialist property knowledge and sagacity. He is a passionate, die-hard motorbike enthusiast and, together with his wife, spend many holidays travelling through the Australian country-side on his bike.

Christene Devery

Director

 

A Director of the firm, Christene has been living and working in the area for over twenty years. She graduated from Central Queensland University with a Bachelor of Business (Accounting) in 1996 and since then has completed her CPA and become a registered Tax Agent. Whilst Christene’s professional interests include superannuation, tax planning and business structuring she believes “one of the biggest rewards of the job is getting to know my clients and watching their business grow and develop over the years”. Christene’s personal interests include fishing, camping and going to the beach with her family – naturally living in this area lets her enjoy all of these activities.

Kim Biggs

 

Kim is a Proserpine local who joined the team at Accountancy Plus in May 2008. Since starting with APW Kim has completed a business degree majoring in accounting, externally through the University of New England. She has also commenced studies to complete her CPA which she hopes to complete over the next few years. Outside of work Kim enjoys socialising with her family and friends.

Karen Miller

 

As a CPA accountant of the firm, Karen completed a Bachelor of Commerce degree from Griffith University in 1990. Originally from the Gold Coast, Karen and her husband Scott decided on a lifestyle change and moved to the beautiful Whitsunday area in mid 2012. Karen has worked in public practice for many years where she handles all aspects of small to medium businesses and other complex structures such as the building and construction areas, transport, retail, hospitality and many more.

Cony Von Strobl-Albeg

 

Cony grew up in Germany and, after completing a German law degree in 2001, travelled around Australia and fell in love with the vibe and beauty of the Whitsundays. After several years of providing bookkeeping services in the local marine, hospitality and tourism industries, Cony joined the team at APW in 2010. Cony loves the variety of public practice, where no two days are the same, and she thrives on the challenge to provide each client with practical, timely and professional service and advice. Cony has a passion for assisting clients in setting up and sorting out their bookkeeping requirements, including payroll, and meeting their ATO lodgement obligations. She has extensive experience in a variety of software programs, with a particular interest in the endless opportunities of Xero. Cony is also a certified Xero advisor.

Jackie Bluck

 

Jackie graduated from Central Queensland University with a Bachelor of Business (Accounting) in 1991 and then completed her CPA soon afterwards. Jackie has worked as an Accountant and Commercial Manager in many industries including Public practice, the Mining Industry, Commercial & Retail, as well as Local Council.

 

Jackie is a local from Mackay and moved to Cannonvale in 2012. Jackie’s professional passion lies in helping small businesses become successful. She has a love for fishing, boating, holidaying and having fun.

Molly McNeill

 

Molly was born and educated in Proserpine before leaving school in Year 10 to join Westpac where she worked for many years. She has also worked in administrative positions before joining APW as receptionist. She is married to Tony, a local electrician and has two children. Molly enjoys gym work, fishing and going out on their boat, reading a good book and spending time with her family.
